Homeward Event 30th June 2026

Homewards is making progress to prevent homelessness

Homewards is a five year locally led programme, created by Prince William and The Royal Foundation of the  Prince and Princess of Wales.

  • Homewards are working with six flagship locations – Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland and Sheffield to test and deliver solutions to prevent homelessness.
  • In each location Homewards is working with them to test and scale new housing models, stronger local systems and new partnerships
  • Homewards focuses on prevention and systems change rather than crisis
  • The aim is to create a tried and tested model that can make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated

Groups where Homewards Aberdeen can help

In Aberdeen in 2022/2023, the city experienced the highest number of homeless applications since 2010/11. Groups the Coalition has identified as most in need of support include single people and young people (under the age of 25).

Prince William joined partners across Aberdeen to reflect on three years of progress and recognise the collective effort to prevent homelessness in the city. https://homewards.org.uk/locations/aberdeen/

The event, held on 30th June 2026 at The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa brought together coalition partners, local organisations and experts through experience for a day focused on learning, collaboration and exploring how this work continues to evolve across the city homewards.org.uk -Aberdeen to recognise three years of work across the city to prevent homelessness

Our Role within Homewards

As a local delivery lead in Aberdeen, we are focusing on the private rented sector.

We are focusing on early identification and intervention for private tenants who may face difficulties and working with landlords and letting agents to support them earlier in the process.

A big moment for Homewards was the partners coming together last month to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the programme running in Aberdeen.
