Aberdeen Citizens Advice Bureau (ACAB) is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are serious about supporting others and co-creating a Youth CAB with us.
We want to know what knowledge and skills young people currently lack so we can develop the resources that will equip the youth to enter adulthood with confidence.
As senior students we need your voice, your ideas and your creativity since you are currently the experts in youth matters.
Are you ready to become a Youth CAB ambassador?

The Programme:

You will be enrolled in our official Adviser Training Programme, to be trained as an adviser:

• You will learn all about the aims and principles of Citizens Advice Scotland and will be supported to develop the necessary interview skills to be an adviser & Youth CAB ambassador at school.
• The courses will equip you with the basic Life Literacy to succeed as a young adult and you will learn how to diagnose issues with budgeting, debt, employment, housing, benefits and even neighbour disputes.
• You will get to shadow our advisers at Aberdeen CAB to get real life experience from our professional and volunteer advisers.
• You will get to practise your adviser skills and get feedback from our professionals.
• As a Youth CAB ambassador, you will also co-develop a workshop presentation to present to the juniors towards the end of this programme.

What you gain:

• You will be certified as having completed the full Adviser Training Programme and gain 10 Level 6 SCQF (a higher) credits.
• Successful completion of the Citizens Advice Training Programme could open the door to volunteer &/work with any Citizens Advice Bureau in Scotland – but we do hope you will choose to stay with us in Aberdeen!

• Volunteer experience at a highly regarded charity will look great on your CV and help you stand out from the crowd.
